Five Fall Favorites: Wednesday {Gentleness}

We're already on Day 3 of the Five Fall Favorites blog party, I can't believe it! Today's theme is peace but I decided to swap it out with gentleness!

1. Ella Pursued

This is a tender book, one that helped me remember to always trust God and that it, while it can be scary, trusting others is also important. The main male character is so gentle in reminding this to the female character. It's a heartfelt, soft short story with a simple plot but the theme shines throughout it.

Recommend for those who like short romances!

2. Winnie-the-Pooh

Winnie-the-Pooh is an enchanting story that brings back much childhood nostalgia for me. It's gentle, charming, and sweet, and has so many tidbits of clever wisdom.

Recommend for readers of any age!

3. Springtime in Surrey

Springtime in Surrey is a delightful anthology that transports the reader to Surrey, England. While each story touches on different themes and some are heavier than others, overall, this anthology depicts what healthy, loving, and gentle romances and friendships look like. Also, the whole countryside aesthetic is so cozy, soft, and calming!

Highly recommend for readers who enjoy stories set in England and the genres of historical, contemporary, and Christian fiction (with a little bit of mystery thrown in a couple of them!).

Should We Tell Her? is a sweet contemporary middle-grade story that centers around three sisters walking through hardship. The two older sisters are so gentle and caring towards their youngest sibling and the bond they have is precious.

Recommend for those who enjoy middle-grade!

5. The Toymaker's Doll

This is one of the most poignant, stunning short stories I've ever read. E.G. Bella weaves together a heartwarming, moving, truth-filled allegory and a simple yet lovely plot to reveal the gentle reminder that God allows hard things to happen to His children for a reason, and that through our struggles we can encourage and bless others. It's very easy to read and the prose somewhat resembles a children's book but there's also so much depth to it. It's truly a story and allegory that children and adults can both understand, which makes it all the more beautiful.

I can't recommend this story enough; people of all ages need to read it.

Remember to run over to Kate's blog to find all the rest of Day 3 links, giveaway, and free books!

  1. Love your lineup, Emma! Thank you so much for sharing about SIS :) I’m glad you enjoyed it. Bella’s book is fantastic… I’m so glad it was spotlighted this year twice now. And Pooh, too! Hannah’s book is lovely as well. I haven’t read Lillian’s yet, but I really must! I enjoyed her other works :)
