Review // Where The Last Verse Ends

The holidays are approaching and if you're looking for a sweet Christmas story, I've got the perfect book rec! Earlier this month, Michaela Bush released the first novella of her Bethlehem Belle series and it's a charming second-chance romance with plenty of banter and wholesome faith content! About the Book   All Kylie White wants is a quiet Christmas in her hometown of Bethlehem. But when she returns home jobless to crash at her parents' place, she has to face the past she left behind. All chaos breaks loose: well-meaning friends setting her up on blind dates, a secret admirer, small-town rumors, and when things couldn't get worse, Kylie crosses paths with Dustin James: Bethlehem's favorite homegrown musician and the one person she never wanted to see again. Kylie is faced with a choice: she can unravel the past and step into the next chapter of her life, or she can keep running away. But when the truth splits open, can she choose to let go of her own hurt? W...

Five Fall Favorites // Saturday: Top 5 Books of 2024

Image
We've made it to the final day of Five Fall Favorites! I've seriously enjoyed spilling all the tea about my favorite books this week, and I hope you've had fun finding some new reads and adding onto that TBR!  You should know the drill by now lol: check out Kate's websit e for links to the other blogs and find out who won the giveaway! To close out the party, I'll be sharing my top five reads of 2024 (so far, still got three months left! XD).  1. Ignite Ignite was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, and oh my goodness. I knew it was going to be amazing (because anything by Kara Swanson is fantastic) but I didn't realize that it would become one of the few books that speaks to me on such a deep, personal level and one that sparks light in my soul. It's a novel filled with lessons about healing, learning how to trust, and being brave. It focuses on a broken character who learns how to blossom into a fiery, courageous protagonist. It's heartbreak...

Five Fall Favorites // Friday: Kindness

Image
Welcome to the second-to-last day of Five Fall Favorites! I can't believe it's almost over, it's been so fun sharing all these amazing books this week! Today, we're focusing on kindness. <3 1. May We Make Them Proud This is such a powerful little novelette. May We Make Them Proud centers around on the themes of second chances, and finding dreams again after tragedy. Why I picked it for "kindness" is for the male main character, Jax. Jax truly does care about the female main character, Wren, and is incredibly kind and compassionate towards her even while she continually gets irritated with him. Overall, it's a heartwarming, inspiring story with some valuable truths. Recommend to those who like YA Christian fiction and romance. 2. Back to Me Oh boy. The time has come to talk about this book. 😅 Back to Me is a story that broke me but I also found so much healing from it because of its relatability. The appropriate responses and kindness shown from the sid...

Five Fall Favorites // Thursday: Goodness

Image
We're four days into Five Fall Favorites and I'm so excited to share today's batch of fantastic books! Today's fruit of the Spirit is patience but I've decided to switch it up with goodness. XD 1. The Memories We Painted This novel forever has my heart. Oh my goodness, the main character has so many beautiful traits and I love how she doesn't give up in believing in the goodness of God and how He doesn't leave even though she goes through much pain. This book truly is a treasure; the prose is impeccable and there are so many golden nuggets of wisdom and quotes. I also really appreciate the fact that the main character is one with a disability, that needs to be highlighted more in fiction.  YA readers absolutely should read this, they're missing out on a jewel if they don't.  2. The Goblin and the Dancer The Goblin and the Dancer is a retelling of The Steadfast Tin Soldier and it's so heartfelt! Each of the characters have their own flaws and moun...

Five Fall Favorites // Wednesday: Gentleness

Image
We're already on Day 3 of the Five Fall Favorites blog party, I can't believe it! Today's theme is peace but I decided to swap it out with gentleness!   1.  Ella Pursued This is a tender book, one that helped me remember to always trust God and that it, while it can be scary, trusting others is also important. The main male character is so gentle in reminding this to the female character. It's a heartfelt, soft short story with a simple plot but the theme shines throughout it. Recommend for those who like short romances! 2. Winnie-the-Pooh Winnie-the-Pooh is an enchanting story that brings back much childhood nostalgia for me. It's gentle, charming, and sweet, and has so many tidbits of clever wisdom.  Recommend for readers of any age! 3. Springtime in Surrey Springtime in Surrey is a delightful anthology that transports the reader to Surrey, England. While each story touches on different themes and some are heavier than others, overall, this anthology depicts what ...
